Flexibility maintenance is important given that 10% of our flexibility is lost for every ten years we age. Flexibility helps our bodies stay younger for longer. It helps us perform daily tasks like tying our shoes with ease.
The Stretch Therapist® combines FST sessions along with prescribing flexibility maintenance programs that the client should follow on their own in order to improve their flexibility and make it last.
A general primer for achieving lasting flexibility via FST is a package of 10 sessions. The first 6-7 sessions should be scheduled closer together (one or two days in between sessions), followed a few follow-up/maintenance sessions spaced farther between (once a month).
There are several factors that play a role in how effective The Stretch Therapist®'s service can be for the client; these include: genetic/morphological predisposition to flexibility; client's adherence to his/her prescribed flexibility maintenance program; and client's level of relaxation/submission during the FST sessions.
