Chronic Pain Relief

  • Do you endure chronic pain such as: joint pain; muscle pain; or headaches?
  • The solution for getting rid of the pain or discomfort does not always have to be pharmaceuticals or invasive medical procedures.
  • In many cases making the pain subside can be as simple as making changes in movement, improving posture, applying massage to the trigger points possibly causing/referring pain to the affected area, and improving circulation throughout the body.
"The daily clinical experience of thousands of massage therapists, physical therapists, and physicians strongly indicates that most of our common aches and pains — and many other puzzling physical complaints — are actually caused by trigger points, or small contraction knots, in the muscles of the body."

   - Clair Davies, 'The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook' - 2nd edition
  • Trigger Point Therapy combined with FST are great tools for improving circulation throughout the body and possibly eliminating chronic muscle pain, joint pain, and headaches that may be caused by trigger points.
  • Trigger Point Therapy and FST are not 100% guaranteed methods to eliminate all chronic joint and muscle pain. However, they are powerful techniques that have helped many people with chronic ailments. These techniques are also non-invasive, and relatively pain-free.
  • Examples of chronic pain/discomfort that have been treated with FST, and/or trigger point therapy  include: adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), chronic headaches, tension headaches, golfer's elbow, chronic joint discomfort/pain, regional muscular tension, reduced joint mobility, myofascial pain syndrome, and lower back pain among many other problems.

How Our Sessions are Structured

  • The client undergoes an assessment and questionnaire to provide necessary information that determines how we will proceed with our appointment.
  • Depending on what the client needs, we proceed with trigger point therapy self-massage techniques or go into a table-based FST routine.
  • Once our FST session is over, the client is prescribed a program targeted to ease the source and symptoms of their discomfort/pain.

  • Several sessions are recommended to help clients seeking pain/discomfort relief. Some will find that one session will be enough to make their pain go away, while others may need a series of sessions to notice improvement.
  • FST will benefit most people, but it is not for everyone. Contra-indicated conditions for FST sessions include:
                   - Recent fracture to a bone
                   - Acute inflammatory or infectious process in or around a
                      joint
                   - Diagnosed with or suspected Osteoporosis (not including
                      Osteoarthritis)
                    - Recent Sprain or Strain
                    - Sharp or acute pain with joint movement
                    - Any known or suspected neuromuscular damage.
