Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are your treatments covered by insurance or benefits?
A: Yes. I provide an RMT (Registered Massage Therapy) receipt for all treatments. If your insurance/benefits provider covers RMT treatments, you can submit your treatment receipt for reimbursement. Coverage will vary between plans. Make sure to find out from your insurance provider how much coverage you have per treatment and in total (per year) for RMT treatments to know how much you will be covered for.
Q: Can I claim your services under Acupuncture with my benefits/insurance?
A: No. Although I practice Contemporary Medical Acupuncture under my scope of practice as an RMT, I do not hold the separate designation of “Acupuncturist” and I am not registered with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO). All of the modalities that I practice are within the scope of practice of Registered Massage Therapy and I only issue RMT receipts.
Q: Is there parking at your location?
A: Yes, I have free reserved parking for clients here.
Q: Is there an elevator in the building where your clinic is located?
A: No, unfortunately there is no elevator here. There is one flight of stairs to get to the second floor where I am located.
Q: What is FST?
A: FST (Fascia Stretch Therapy) is a treatment approach developed by Ann and Chris Frederick. It involves individualized assessment and treatment to address restrictions in movement. Treatments are conducted on a treatment table, the client remains clothed in comfortable, stretchable attire, and the client is assisted through a variety of ranges of movement specific to their needs. FST can be applied to the whole body to help improve range of motion or to assist with stability. FST treatment is pain free and can be used to help the client deeply relax and calm their nervous system, or stimulate the client’s nervous system depending on the tempo applied.
